Muzzleloader Deer Season Begins in Michigan

Posted: Updated:

Muzzleloader deer season begins in Michigan today.

Zone 1 (Upper Peninsula) and Zone 3 (southern Michigan) are the areas open for the 2012 muzzleloader deer season.

Zone 2 (northern Lower Peninsula) will have muzzleloader season from December 14-23.

The DNR would like to remind hunters to have the appropriate licenses when hunting, either a firearm deer license or combination deer license is required.

Also, only hunters with a certified disability license can use a crossbow or a modified bow during muzzleloader season in the Upper Peninsula.

Make sure to wear your required hunter orange when you're out hunting.
