BMW Recalling Thousands of SUVs for Power Steering Problem

BMW is issuing a recall for thousands of SUVs because of an issue with power steering.

The recall affects X5 SUVs because a bolt can break and drivers can lose power assisted steering, which means an increase for a crash.

It's based around X5 xDrive 35d models with diesel engines from 2009-2012.

BMW dealers will replace the bolt and add a coating that keeps them from coming lose.

Owners will be notified about the recall in January.
