Police Discover Meth Lab Components in Traverse City Motel

Posted: Updated:

A dangerous discovery in a Grand Traverse County motel room. Police found components of a meth lab.

The Traverse Narcotics Team got a tip that a meth lab may be operating out of the room.

When they got there, the lab was not active, but had been used to cook the drug.

Investigators tell us there was also other drug paraphernalia inside.

Police say when they entered the room, they found drug paraphernalia, marijuana, and the chemicals and equipment used in a meth lab.

As you can see, police put a warning sign on the door to make sure people steer clear of the highly dangerous area.

One woman who was in the room was arrested for a warrant that was unrelated to this case.

TNT is still investigating and more arrests are expected to be made.

Because meth is so dangerous -- especially the process to make it -- police are urging people to not touch anything if they think they have found a meth lab.

Police say that if you smell anything that you think could be meth, you're urged to call 9-1-1.

If you have any information on this case, you're asked to call the Silent Observer Tip Line at 231-947-TIPS (8477) or the Traverse Narcotics Team at 231-922-0993.
