UPDATE: Cadillac Chiropractor Sentenced to Jail for Tax Evasion

Posted: Updated:

Cadillac chiropractor sentenced to jail for tax evasion.

Paul Kelly was sentenced to 24 months imprisonment and 2 years of supervised release and will have to pay $279,145 in restitutions.

Kelly's business operated under the name Kelly Chiropractic Center before being renamed Advanced Chiropractic Center.

In August, Kelly admitted to under-reporting the amount of his business income and inflating his business expenses.

Kelly was involved in a tax evasion scheme that spanned from 1999 to 2006 and earned about $2.2 million in gross income but only paid $23,601 in taxes.

IRS Criminal Investigation Special Agent in Charge Erick Martinez says, "Kelly went to extraordinary means to hide his income. IRS Criminal Investigation will thoroughly investigate those who fail to pay their taxes."
