UPDATE: The initial outbreak began several months ago, but the number of infected people is still on the rise.

Health officials say the number of Michigan residents infected by the National outbreak of Fungal Meningitis, has risen to at least 201.

That's up 13 people since last Wednesday.

The Michigan Department of Community Health says there have been 67 Meningitis cases as of Monday, but that does not include 120 epidural abscesses, one stroke and 13 joint infections.

There has been 13 deaths in Michigan, including one in Charlevoix County.

The Meningitis outbreak is linked to contaminated steroid injections for neck and back pain, produced by a Massachusetts pharmacy.
