$200,000 Grant Helps Prepare Regional Food Hub

Posted: Updated:

A $200,000 grant has become a small stepping stone for what will soon be a Regional Food Hub based in Traverse City.

The Northwest Michigan Council of Governments received the grant from the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development. Once a building at the Grand Traverse Commons is fixed up, that will be the hub's home.

The purpose of the hub is to accommodate the growth of agriculture in our region for small and mid-scale farmers, and for food grown here, to stay here.
