Isabella County Dive Team Trains New Members

Posted: Updated:

It's difficult enough to search and rescue dive in a murky lake.

It's even harder when the water is near freezing.

It's why the recently expanded Isabella County Dive Team brought in their five new members for their first cold water dive training today.

The team tested equipment, procedures and themselves on Coldwater Lake near Weidman.

The sun was shining but the water was a frosty 38 degrees.

It was the first time many of these divers used this equipment and worked with this team.

The object was to work the kinks out of the system as they dove for sunken buoys while dealing with the near frozen lake.

9&10's Eric Lloyd and photojournalist Jeff Blevins were at the training and returned with more details.
