Local Leaders Watch Governor Snyder Speak on Energy and Environment in Traverse City

Posted: Updated:

Although the Governor wasn't here in Traverse City, it didn't stop state and local leaders from tuning in to hear his plans for energy and the environment.

The Governor zeroed in on the Michigan Saves program. Here in Traverse City, Brian Beauchamp is in charge of TC Saves; it's a federally funded program that offers home energy assessments for families. Locally, they're making strides to meet the Governor's energy expectations.

Governor Snyder says we aren't taking full advantage of our natural gas resources. He also touched on the value of the state's trailways, Great Lakes, and wetlands. He's aiming for our state to become a leader in preservation and prevention, and state leaders agree.
