Northern Michigan Power Plant Receives Multi-Million Dollar Upgrade

A multi-million dollar upgrade in the Upper Peninsula has ties to Northern Michigan.
The Presque Isle Power Plant in Marquette County will get up to $140 million in improvements by a cooperative that includes Cadillac based Wolverine Power Cooperative along with a Milwaukee based company.
Wolverine and We Energies Plan to pursue joint ownership of the Marquette plant, as well as upgraded emissions controls.
Wolverine plans to pay for and build the new air quality controls.
The plan still requires state and federal approval.
