Drunk Driver Flees From Accident Then Leads Alpena Police on Foot Chase

Posted: Updated:

A man who police say has never had a driver's license is in the Alpena County Jail, after leading police there on a chase, early Saturday.

Alpena police say he was drunk when his vehicle crossed the centerline, jumped the curb, and struck a parked car.

He fled from that scene, but was later spotted by deputies on Long Lake Avenue near US-23.

He then turned into a driveway and fled on foot, only to be caught a short distance away.

Besides the charges he accumulated yesterday, he also had two outstanding warrants.

Both cars suffered considerable damage from the original accident, but no one was hurt.
