Firefighters raced to save what they could from a historic Cadillac home.

Most of the damage was contained to the third floor but the flames spread to the second.

The home on Division Street near Holbrook Street is divided into apartments. Fortunately everyone made it out without injuries.

Flames were visible from the top story of the building.

Police closed Harris and part of Division Street for several hours.

The house is the original home of Austin Mitchell. Austin is the nephew of George Mitchell, the founder of Cadillac.
