Teacher Suspended As Osceola County Police Investigate Case Involving 16-Year-Old Student

Posted: Updated:

A teacher suspended as police in Osceola County investigate a case of "inappropriate communication" with a student.

Police tell us it's between a teacher and a 16-year-old outside of school hours.

The teacher has been suspended by the Mecosta Osceola Intermediate School District.

They are not saying which school, or the teacher involved.

The ISD Superintendent say the school got a tip on Monday and immediately began an investigation and contacted police.

They are trying to determine if the "inappropriate communication" indicated something more.

Prosecutors will decide if there will be criminal charges.

The school can determine on it's own whether there are grounds for termination.
