Former Evart Principal Sentenced to 7-50 Years For Sex Crime

Posted: Updated:

A former high school principal -- who admitted to having a sexual relationship with a 14-year-old student -- learned his fate in court today.

Alan Kullman will spend anywhere from 7 to 50 years in prison.

The punishment marks the end of a case that's stunned the entire community of Evart -- and beyond.

Kullman was sentenced this morning in the Osceola County Courthouse.

He was first arrested back in June.

The prosecutor says the sexual relationship went on for five months.

Kullman pleaded guilty to one count of first degree Criminal Sexual Conduct.

Two other counts were dropped as part of a plea deal.

9&10's Evan Dean and Photojournalist Jake Johnson were in the courtroom for today's sentencing, and have more from Kullman -- and the victim's mother.
