Cadillac-Wexford Transit Authority Says It Will Soon Close Buckley Transfer Station

Posted: Updated:

The Cadillac-Wexford transit authority says it will soon close the Buckley Transfer Station.

The transfer station has been open for nearly two years, providing a link with the Bay Area Transit Authority in Traverse City.

The CWTA cites increasing operation costs to run the station and low ridership.

About 100 people use the station on a sporadic basis.

Vance Edwards, the Director of CWTA says,

"We will land on our feet.  We will just look for a new location, so you would not have to worry about these cross county travel needs that you currently have and we will make sure they get transportation."

The station closes on January 18th, but the Director of the transit authority does not expect to see a lapse in service.
