Mariners Memorial Service Pays Tribute to Lives Lost on the Lakes

The Edmund Fitzgerald drew crowds when it came in to port, and broke its own records for carrying cargo. On November 10th, 1975, the freighter was carrying iron ore when it sank off White Fish Point. One of the nearly 30 people on-board was Great Lakes Maritime Academy Cadet, David Weiss. A bell tolls for Cadet Weiss and others who's lives were lost that day.

Remembering history is one way to ensure it doesn't repeat itself, but it certainly doesn't make their job any easier.
