UPDATE: Former Habitat for Humanity Manager Charged with Embezzlement

A man charged with stealing thousands of dollars from an area non-profit will spend nearly 2 years in jail.

Joshua Doherty is the former manager of the Habitat for Humanity Re-Store in Grand Traverse County.

Since last fall, police say they've traced about $30,000 in missing funds back to Doherty.

He didn't show up for a July hearing, and it was believed he ran off to Colorado, police arrested him in September.

Doherty will also have to pay back more than $5,000.
