Animal Neglect Investigation Underway in Presque Isle County

Posted: Updated:

A Presque Isle County woman is accused of neglecting more than 30 horses, five dogs, and three pigs and the details are still unfolding.

An investigation into some stray horses in Bismarck Township led deputies to Christine Thompson's Noffze Highway farm.

The Sheriff's Office says they've talked to Thompson multiple times in the past.

This time, they said they reached the end of the line.

They arrested Thompson and are now working to place the animals with volunteers while the investigation pans out.

The horses had hay today, but the animal control officer tells 9&10 News it's moldy, and the owner had just put it down.

9&10's Christina Vecchioni and photojournalist Eric Davis have more details on the investigation.
