Offensive Graffiti Litters Busy Street in Traverse City

Posted: Updated:

A Traverse City staple; Jim Kratky's family bought Bardon's Wonder Freeze more than 40 years ago. The ice cream shop is closed for winter, but when he got a call saying it had been vandalized, he rushed there with paint in hand.

We aren't showing you what his yellow shop was covered in, but we can tell you they were some pretty vulgar words. The black paint stretches down East Front Street for more than a mile. Police say after businesses closed last night until early this morning, they received nine separate reports. Jim is just hoping he doesn't have to worry about it happening again.

Reporting in Traverse City, Sara Simnitch and Photojournalist, Jeremy Erickson.
