The numbers show current Republican Congressman Dan Benishek will soon begin his second term representing Michigan's 1st Congressional District in Washington.
After what turned out to be an extremely close race, unofficial election results from the Secretary of State still show Benishek defeated Democrat Gary McDowell by 2,322 votes.
Despite the numbers, McDowell has not conceded.
His campaign continues to wait, working to make sure every vote in the 1st district is counted and certified.
Meanwhile, Benishek is looking forward to the next two years.
