MOUNT PLEASANT - The new-look Central Michigan Chippewas, under first-year coach Keno Davis, got double-figure scoring efforts from four players en route to their 86-76 exhibition win over visiting Lake Superior State University.

Zach Saylor led the Chippewas with 17 points.  The three starting guards for CMU, Kyle Randall, Austin Keel and Chris Fowler, chipped in 13 points apiece.  Derek Kinney led the Lakers in scoring with 15 points.  Derek Billing and Cameron Metz each netted 12 points, and Rashaun Carroll added 11 for Lake Superior State.

CMU led 46-40 at the half, and used a 55% shooting effort in the second half to hold the Lakers' comeback attempts at bay.

The Chippewas open up regular season play on the road at Iowa on Monday, while the Lakers travel to the University of Missouri-St. Louis on Friday night.
