Isabella County Commission Vote Decided By Two Votes

Posted: Updated:

In a congressional race, 2,300 votes is tight.

A two vote decision is close anywhere.

That was the margin of victory for incumbent Roger Trudell over Tom Riley in the race for the 3rd District seat on the Isabella County Commission.

Trudell tallied 1,846 votes to Riley's 1,844.

The race wasn't decided until about 5 AM, well after Trudell went to bed expecting defeat.

Both candidates never expected it to be this close and both would rather have seen the margin much wider.

9&10's Eric Lloyd spoke with both candidates after the razor thin race and has more details.
