Over 500 Riders Take Park In 23rd Annual Iceman Cometh Mountain Bike Race

Posted: Updated:

Some 550 riders were on hand to take part in the 23rd Annual Iceman Cometh Mountain Bike Race today.

The event takes place every year beginning in Kalkaska and finishing at the Timber Ridge Resort in Traverse City.

It's the world's largest, one day point-to-point mountain bike race and it was expected to bring in 5,500 people to the area today, including riders, family and fans.

Three different races made up the challenge.

Laura Bell, the Marketing Director of Bell's Brewery says,

"This race is open to everybody and that's what makes it so cool...It's that people from all different levels can participate in the Iceman and whether you're a pro or whether you're an amateur like me, there's something to do for everybody."

Bell's Beer was the sponsor of this year's challenge for the second straight year.
