Overnight Fire Badly Damages Cheboygan County Business

Posted: Updated:

Fire fighters got called to a fire around 1:00 a.m., Thursday, at Lofgren Enterprises Inc/Sales on North Straits Highway in Inverness Township, just outside Cheboygan.

By the time the fire department got there, part of the building was engulfed.

Exploding paint cans and propane tanks made it difficult for the six departments on scene to battle the flames.

The back part of the building, which held a motor home, boats, ATVs and more is destroyed.

The front part is damaged but still standing.

The fire chief believes the flames started in the back half of the building, but a cause is still unknown at this time.

Though part of the business is damaged, the owner says they will be able to move ahead with certain services, like snow removal, when the time comes.

9&10's Christina Vecchioni and photojournalist Eric Davis have more from Cheboygan County.
