NEW DETAILS: Sexual Assault Suspect in Jail, Not His First Offense

We have more details on a man accused of sexually assaulting a young boy in Traverse City.

Traverse City Detectives searched a home in Alden, Michigan in Antrim County where they found evidence related to the assault of an 8-year-old boy.

The assault happened near the skate park at the Civic Center in Traverse City October 25th.

Antrim County Police arrested a 26-year-old from Alden Wednesday around 3:00 in connection to the assault.

They say the suspect is currently lodged at the Grand Traverse County Jail and has prior convictions of sexual assault and is a registered sex offender.

He served time in jail for sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl back in 2008.

He is expected in court today.
