Police Chase Ends in Crash

Man fleeing from police ends up crashing his car.

Reed City Police say a 38-year-old man from Battle Creek was pulled over for a traffic stop when he decided to flee from police.

The pursuit continued onto US 131 north bound, all area police were told to be on the lookout for a car driving all over the road.

The driver ended up crashing near the 176 exit ramp and fleeing on foot.

Michigan State Troopers quickly caught him and took him into custody.

Police say he stole the car from Battle Creek and put an improper license plate on the back.

He was charged with fleeing and eluding police, operating while intoxicated 3rd offense, driving while license suspended 2nd offense, possession of marijuana and having outstanding warrants.

His name is being held pending arraignment.
