TC Police Looking for Whoever Sexually Assaulted Young Boy

Posted: Updated:

Police say a young boy was sexually assaulted by a stranger in the lobby of his apartment complex; they're still looking for who's responsible.

Police tell us the assault happened around 7:00 last night at an apartment complex on the 200 block of Fair Street in Traverse City.

We're told the 8 year-old boy was at the Grand Traverse County Civic Center skate park, across from the apartment where he lives. When he walked across the street to go home, he entered a door code to get into the building, and police say the man followed him in.  That's when the man started inappropriately touching the boy and exposing himself.

The suspect is described as a 25-year-old male, tan looking skin, shorter in height, short dark hair that is spiked in the front. They say he was wearing a plain white t-shirt, khaki shorts and tennis shoes.

If you have any information regarding the whereabouts of the suspect, please call the Traverse City Police Department Detective Bureau at 231-995-5152.
