Mackinaw City Village Council Hears Casino Proposal

Posted: Updated:

The Little Traverse Bay Bands of Odawa Indians made a presentation tonight, Thursday, to the Mackinaw City Village Council.

They want the council to approve a new 29-thousand square-foot casino in town.

During the village council meeting, the tribe explained the casino would have 550 slot machines, and would create up to 90 full time jobs.

The village council did not take any action on the casino proposal tonight, and first plans to hold a public hearing before making any decisions.

9&10's Christina Vecchioni and photojournalist Eric Davis have more details from the meeting.
