An Engineer Working on the Dam in Traverse City Apologizes for Flooding

Posted: Updated:

An engineer working on the dam removal project in Grand Traverse County is apologizing for flooding that damaged at least 53 properties.

The Brown Bridge Dam at the Boardman River failed October 6th, causing massing flooding reaching nearby homes.

An investigation into the flooding along the river is expected to take months.

The flood happened during what was supposed to be a slow draining of the dam.

Engineers are now working on a plan to restore the Boardman River's natural flow.

The company responsible says they want to "...make things right," for affected homeowners.
