Update: Two Die in M-37 Car/Semi Accident

Posted: Updated:

We have new information on an accident that shut down part of M-37 in Grand Traverse County last night.

Deputies say Zachery Boyer of Manton crossed the center line and hit a semi head-on. Both vehicles caught fire after the crash.

Boyer and the driver of the semi, Jeremy Jelinek from Suttons Bay, both died in the crash.

The passenger in the semi managed to make it out of the truck and was treated for injuries at the scene.

It took about six hours to clean up the scene.

The semi had been hauling bees. If you witnessed the crash, you are asked to call the Sheriff's Department.
