Drunk Driver Drives Into East Grand Traverse Bay

A drunk driver takes off, leaving his car submerged in water, prompting the Sheriff's Department and the Coast Guard to search for him early yesterday morning.

The driver, who is 18, drove his vehicle off of a boat launch in Grand Traverse County.

It happened yesterday morning around 3 AM. 

Emergency responders arrived at the scene to find a car partially submerged in the water.

A search of the car and nearby waters found no one.

Around 9 AM the driver was located walking on US 31 in Acme Township.

He was then arrested for operating while intoxicated and leaving the scene of an accident.
