Hazardous Waste Collection in Mecosta, Osceola, & Lake Counties - Northern Michigan's News Leader

Hazardous Waste Collection Saturday in Mecosta, Osceola, and Lake Counties

Posted: Updated:

If you have some old paint or batteries just taking up space, there is a way you can clean your shelves this weekend without hurting the environment.

On Saturday from 9:00a.m. to noon you can drop off hazardous waste at sites in Osceola, Lake, and Mecosta Counties.

You can drop off things like motor oil, fluorescent lights, and pesticides. It is the 10th year local conservation groups have organized the collection. They say it is important to properly dispose of hazardous materials to protect the environment and ground water.

The Mecosta County Senior Center is one of the locations. Other drop-off sites include: behind Jones Ice Cream Shop in Baldwin, and at the Osceola County Road Commission's south building east of Hersey.
