Cadillac Shining a Light on Homeless Youth

Posted: Updated:

Brightly colored lanterns will float above Cadillac to shine a light on homeless and runaway youth.

You can be a part of the event beginning at 7:30 tomorrow at the Cadillac High School football field.

This footage from last year's event.

It's put on by Staircase Youth Services, a group that works to support youth and families in at risk situations.

Last year Staircase helped 157 youths in Lake, Manistee, Mason, Missaukee and Wexford counties.

Outreach specialists say it's an issue that often goes unnoticed.

The lanterns cost $10 and will be released around 8:00.

The money will help provide housing for potential runaways and homeless young adults.
