Soldier from Northern Michigan Presented American Flags to Hometown

A soldier from Northern Michigan is giving some high flying American flags a place to stay in his hometown.

Today. the VFW Post in Roscommon presented a State Police Lieutenant and the Houghton Lake School superintendent with American flags that have flown over Afghanistan.

They were sent and dedicated by Sergeant First Class Theodore Savercool, who's currently serving in Alaska.

Savercool wanted to recognize the local Police post, and his former school , for their positive influence on his life.

The flags were brought to the VFW Post by his family, who still live in the area.

Savercool has served in both Iraq and Afghanistan, he's been a member of the Army for 21 years.
