Goodwill Traverse City Gets Visit From President and CEO

Posted: Updated:

It was a first for the Goodwill in Traverse City, as they got a special visit from Jim Gibbons, President and CEO of Goodwill Industries International.

Gibbons came to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Traverse City Goodwill, talk to staff about the company, and share his story.

He shared his struggles through college and finding a job with a disability - macular degeneration, causing him to be blind.

He spoke with the group about growth opportunities for the company, and was very impressed with this Goodwill branch.

The Traverse City Goodwill began with three employees and 11 clients.

Today, they employ 240 people, and serve more than 7,000 people.
