Ferris State football beat Grand Valley State for the first time since 1999 and did so in convincing fashion Saturday night in Allendale with a 40-24 victory.

The Lakers, ranked third in the nation, jumped out to a 17-0 lead.  However, the Bulldogs scored 40 of the following 47 points.

The Bulldogs took home the Anchor-Bone trophy for the first time in its 9-year history.

Ferris returns home with a 4-2 record just in time for "Homecoming" Saturday.  The Bulldogs host Hillsdale at 2pm.
