Two Burglars Lead Police on Foot Chase in Gaylord

Posted: Updated:

Around 1:15 PM this afternoon, the Michigan State Police in Gaylord were called to the private residence of Lake Arrowhead, where a male and female subject were causing a disturbance on the property.

Upon troopers arrival, the two parties fled the area on foot, carrying large bags with them.

They dropped the bags a short ways away, but continued running.

The female, a homeless 19-year-old woman from Gaylord, was arrested after a 50 yard foot chase.

The male subject continued running and K9 unites were called in to run a track.

A short while later, a stolen vehicle report from the Lake Arrowhead area came into the central dispatch.

That was at 2:30 PM.

At the same time the stolen vehicle report was coming in, another trooper just happened to pull over the exact vehicle, on Old 27 near Charles Brink.

The vehicle was occupied by the male subject, a 30-year-old from Gaylord.

He was arrested and taken to the Otsego County jail, where the 19-year-old woman was also being held.

Both parties were charged with home invasion and the man was charged with Unlawful Driving Away of and Automobile, as well.
