Northern Michigan Filmmakers Welcome Incentive Boost

Posted: Updated:

In 2008, Michigan started an uncapped film incentive program, dishing out more than $110 million in tax credits in 2010.

Governor Snyder capped the incentives to $25 million last year but has now raised the cap to a robust $58 million for the fiscal year.

The incentives will help production companies pay for all in state expenditures during the film making process.

Local producers love the boost in support and find it a good balance for both industry and state.
