United States Coast Guard Prepares for Winter Rescues

The U.S. Coast Guard is preparing for winter weather. Coast Guard Air Station Traverse City held their annual wet drills at Bryant Park Beach today. Coastguardsmen put on dry suits and performed various drills which included swimming out to a raft in Lake Michigan's chilly water, getting their rescue gear checked, and learning the basics of survival in harsh conditions. The U.S. Coast Guard says it's vital training to get ready for rescues in the coming winter months.
