Beating Cancer One Cookie at a Time

Posted: Updated:

Pediatric Cancer is the number one disease killer of children in the U.S. and compared to other childhood diseases it's under funded.

This weekend the community of Sutton's Bay in Leelanau County wants to change all of that.

The Cookies for Kids' Cancer cause was started by a woman who lost her child to cancer.

Now it goes on in towns big and small across the country with every dollar raised not only going to pediatric cancer research but matched by the company OXO.

Its turned into a nationwide event giving kids like 13-year-old Abby Gross a chance to fight and even beat this disease.

9&10's Jessica Dupnack and photojournalist Anthony Zyber have Abby's story and how fundraiser's like these help her along the road to recovery.
