State Police Searching for Man Who Took Off During Traffic Stop

Posted: Updated:

State Police in Mackinac County are searching for a man they say avoided a traffic stop by taking off.

It happened around 2:30 this morning on M-123 at Charles Moran Road in Moran.

State Police say the driver first drove away, then got out and ran into the woods.

They used a K9 to search, but when the dog got sprayed by a skunk he lost the scent.

It's unclear at this time why the trooper tried to pull the driver over, or why he took off.

State Police want that man to turn himself in.
