Bow Hunting Season Begins in Northern Michigan

Posted: Updated:

DNR deer check stations are open as bow hunting season gets underway.

Hunters across northern michigan headed into the woods this morning for the first day of bow season.

The DNR office in Cadillac said they only had one deer come through their check station early this morning, but expect they will see more throughout the week.

They say its important, but not necessary, for people to bring their deer to be checked out so they can keep track of any problems within the deer herd.
