The State Theater in Traverse City is making progress on some ambitious renovations.
Work on the front of the historic theater bean in August, after the Traverse City Film Festival.
Workers recently began replacing the iconic red paneling of the facade.
The project aims at restore the building to how it appeared in 1949.
"The theater has already been a big catalyst for growth on Front Street and in Traverse City, in general. And, I think that having the facade all brand new is going to help improve that even further" says Louis Dickinson, the General Manager of the State Theater.
Renovations are expected to be completed by the middle of October.
