Missing Manistee County Girl Found Safe

Posted: Updated:

A happy ending to a desperate search.

A 10 year-old girl -- missing for more than two days in Manistee County -- is alive and safe.

Neighbors found Blessing Yoder in their garage just before nine this morning.

It appears she had been hiding there for more than two full days, after running away from her home near the intersection of Erdman Road and 13 Mile Road.

Police say Blessing had been hiding behind some boxes and under steps entering the house.

Amazingly, despite more than two days away from home, the young girl is still in good health.

"She appeared to be in very good condition. The garage was warm... We presume that she was able to get food and water in the home while the homeowners were gone," said Lt. David Street, with the Michigan State Police.

Police say Child Protective Services are looking into exactly why Blessing ran away.

Right now, they say there's no signs of foul play from her adoptive parents.

9&10's Evan Dean and Photojournalist Jake Johnson have been following the story since it first broke, and have more details.
