When Dan Heffron was 7 years old he got a wood carving set as a gift, since then he's been perfecting a craft that is gaining a lot of attention.
Heffron's wood work has been named as one of the top 25 most popular pieces at ArtPrize in Grand Rapids.
The internationally recognized art competition brings hundreds of thousands of people from around the country to Grand Rapids for an open format art gallery, held in buildings, parks and public spaces.
Kalin Franks and Joel Deaner were in Grand Rapids and spoke with Heffron about his work.
