After a two month investigation, an assault suspect turns himself in.
On July 25th, a 37-year-old woman gave a stranger a ride in her car in Eveline Township.
The suspect assaulted the woman and stole her truck and fled from it right down the road, then stole a second vehicle which was later found in Boyne City.
The Sheriff's Office collected enough evidence that led to a subject of interest.
22-year-old Cody Mittig, from Boyne City, turned himself in and arrested for criminal sexual conduct and for unlawfully driving away.
Mittig plead not guilty and his bond is set at $20,000, if convicted he could face life in prison for the sex crime and 5 years in prison for driving away a vehicle.
