One Dead, One Arrested Following Bar Assault

Posted: Updated:

Police say a Cadillac man threw just one punch -- but now, he's in jail, charged with Manslaughter.

Police say Colin Therrian threw the punch following some sort of argument behind the Busy Bee Bar in Cadillac on September 13th.

The man he hit, Randy Taylor, died early Sunday morning in the hospital.

He was trying to recover from severe head injuries after he hit his head on the asphalt.

We're told Taylor was not being physically violent with Therrian.

Even though the Involuntary Manslaughter charge indicates Therrian didn't mean to kill Taylor -- he could face up to 15 years in prison, if convicted.

Now, Randy Taylor's family is struggling to come to grips with the senseless tragedy.

"Everything makes me think of him. When I see a beautiful sunset, or when I go to the store and see something that he loved to eat... Now, there are no more birthdays, or Christmases, or any time to visit with him. It's hard," said Nadine Taylor, one of Randy's daughters.

Randy's family says he was a loving father and grandfather.

They're still working on funeral arrangements.
