UPDATE: Northern Michigan School No Longer in Secure Mode Due to Area Bank Robbery

1:00pm UPDATE: Michigan State Police reported that the Cadillac Area Public Schools are no longer required to be in "Secure Mode."

The Citizens Bank in Cadillac was robbed this morning just after 10:00.

The Cadillac Area Public Schools initiated "Secure Mode" due to the bank robbery on Mitchell and Boon Roads.

The CAPS Superintendent is advising parents to remain calm and there is no imminent threat to the students.

The suspect is described as a 40-50 year old white male, about 6 feet tall, average build, short hair and a goatee with a dark mustache. He was wearing a camo style ball cap, grey hoodie, blue jeans, blue shirt and wearing sunglasses.

The Citizens Bank released a statement to 9&10 News about the robbery, "Our primary concern is for the safety of our clients and staff. We are cooperating with local law enforcement officials in their investigation and encourage anyone with information about this incident to contact the police department."
