UPDATE: Woman Nearly Abducted in Grand Traverse County

Posted: Updated:

UPDATE: Police are still trying to track down a man who tried abducting a woman near Boardman Lake, in Grand Traverse County.

This is the second incident like this in the past two weekends, within the Traverse-City Area.

The woman was walking her dog yesterday afternoon, on a well-traveled portion of the TART trail near Logan's Landing.

The woman says a male came up behind her, grabbed her into a bear hug, and attempted moving her to the woods behind Art Van Furniture.

She was able to break away and get home, safely.

People who frequent the area are shocked to hear of what happened.

The man is being described as white or Native American, in his late 20's or early 30's, medium build, with long black hair that was pulled back into a pony tail. He was last seen wearing a red fitted short sleeve shirt and baggy jeans.
