We have an update to a child abuse story we've been following since last year.
The Wexford county man who admitted to abusing his girlfriend's son has been sentenced to prison.
Today, Andrew Basinski was sentenced to two, 80 to 120 month sentences.
Last month, he plead guilty to 2 second degree child abuse charges.
Police say Basinski severely abused Trenton Ellis in Cadillac just a day before the boy's first birthday.

The man accused of abusing his girlfriend's son has admitted to the crime.
The prosecutor tells 9&10 News Andrew Basinski agreed to plead guilty to two second degree child abuse charges.
In exchange, three first child abuse charges against him were dropped.

Basinski will be sentenced next month.
He faces up to 20 years in prison.

A mother, who's ex-boyfriend is accused of abusing her baby, has lost parental rights of all her children.
Andrew Basinski is accused of abusing 1-year-old Trenton Ellis in Cadillac three separate times last month.
Basinski now faces 3 charges of 1st degree child abuse.
The baby's mother, Anna Ellis, has now lost parental rights over all 3 of her children.
Court records say she failed to protect Trenton, by continuing to allow Basinski to take care of the baby.
