Charlevoix Community Fireplace is Headed Back to the Drawing Board

UPDATE: It's back to the drawing board for a community fireplace fueling it's fair share of debate.
The idea for the fireplace on Bridge Street, in downtown Charlevoix was proposed and paid for in late June, by a donor.
Many downtown businesses are upset, saying it will obstruct their view of the water.
Last week, after more than three hours of debate at the city council meeting, the board agreed to temporarily stop construction.
The city manager told 9 and 10 News that at tonight's meeting, the city council decided to revise plans, develop drawings, and take it to the planning commission, later on.
He says they hope to come up with something most can agree on.
